Welcome to Summitview

The decision to start therapy is one rooted in bravery. My hope is to honour your process, and meet you with a trauma-informed, person-centred, attachment-based approach. I have a background in kinesiology, so I am fascinated by the mind-body connection. While we cannot directly change the past, I believe that, in a supportive environment, we can process (and reprocess) that which we’ve experienced. Doing this in the present moment can allow us to view the future through a different lens.

My approach

  • Imagine we are both driving in a car and witness a minor accident. One of us walks away completely unscathed, but for the other, witnessing that accident has created an intense reaction. We each perceive life through different lenses, so my hope is to understand your experiences through your lens. Safety is paramount when engaging with trauma-processing.

  • Engaging in a non-judgemental and empathetic way as you explore different parts of yourself is a tenet of therapy here. We believe in resilience, and that, together, growth and change can occur.

  • We exist on this world in relationships. Learning about your unique interactions help create a more holistic view of your life and experiences. This is important throughout our lifespan.

Outside the counselling office…

You can find me golfing, camping, hiking, and sometimes running, all after a good cup of coffee. I am born and raised in British Columbia, and have always loved spending time in the mountains. Golden Ears is my favourite local hike. I am a husband to my amazing wife, a son to our parents, an uncle to our two nephews and niece, and a friend to our supportive community. I love the Canucks and the Blue Jays, movie popcorn (with layered butter, of course), travelling, and country music.

A barren mountain landscape with rocky slopes and a blue sky with wispy clouds.
A scenic view of a golf course with sand bunkers, a putting green with a flag, water hazards, trees, rolling hills, and mountains in the distance under a partly cloudy sky.

Calm lake with a floating wooden dock and a metal ladder, surrounded by hills and a sky with scattered clouds at sunset.
